My literary theme was "Fear of the Unknown", so I tried to capture the magnitude and mystery of the word unknown while also contrasting it with a small figure that is rigid and minuscule in comparison. The sharp edges of the triangle contrast with the fluid hand drawn lines of the unknown space that surrounds it. I stretched the text also to surround and crowd the word fear to imitate an intimidating looming shadow. Dazai Osamu's "No Longer Human" is a novel that delves into the themes of existential despair, alienation, and the fear of the unknown that arise from the uncertainties of human existence.
